I was truly amazed from the first time I set foot in this place. The location is very close to the city center and easy to access. Yesterday I booked my entrance ticket through the Klook app. But you don't need to worry because you can also buy tickets directly at the counter. In my opinion, this place is very friendly for family trips. We are also spoiled by the beauty of the detailed wooden palace carvings. You also don't need to worry because they provide tour guides who are proficient in English, Korean, Mandarin. I would like to say thank you to Mrs.Pamela. She explaining clearly and always make the tour more fun. Kindly reminder, before all of you visit here, make sure wear proper outfit, wear long pants / long dress. Do not wear tank top and short pants.

The Magnificent and Beautiful Wooden Castle.

The Sanctuary of Truth (SoT) is structurally remarkable for sure. However our visit was marred by poor weather (nobody’s fault) and very poor service (definitely the management’s fault).

Firstly, we met a very rude staff managing the queue for online bookings. This was in the morning of 28 Sep 2024. There wasn’t much of a line here since it was a matter of presenting our online booking in exchange for physical tickets so the line, if any, moved fast. Hence, we couldn’t make out why this particular staff (male) was behaving so frazzled and rudely. I politely asked for the brochure in English instead of helping myself directly for fear of crossing him further and he just shoved the brochure, almost grudgingly, at me.   

Next, we queued to board the bus that would take us to the SoT itself. The bus was in very very poor condition with broken seats and handles and most appallingly, multiple leaks from the roof! This rendered several seats unusable which didn’t help the capacity issue.

On arrival, we were issued helmets as a safety measure since the building is still a work in progress. However, the helmets were very very smelly and gross! I feel the SoT management should have the onus to ensure cleanliness and hygiene for visitors!

As can be seen, our visit did not get off to a good start at all. It was only saved by our splendid guide, Pamela, as part of the compulsory guided tour. Pamela did a great job. She was well-spoken, engaging and above all, understood visitors’ sentiments that while interested about the SoT’s philosophy, everyone was more eager in photo-taking so while conscientious in delivering her content, she was mindful about moving us along expeditiously as well. The one thing that disturbed me slightly was the ‘joke’ that people born on Saturday are destined to be unhappy. While most of the ‘truths’ shared at the SoT were quite common-sensical and universal, I really couldn’t understand the SoT’s theory about Saturday-borns, especially since I’m one myself. 

Having said the above, since Pattaya is relatively small with limited options, the SoT is probably still worth a visit. Apparently there are other activities on site but we didn’t explore beyond the structure itself due to bad weather.

Poor Management!

Its definitely the Sanctuary of truth ,the architecture was mind blowing,the way they pay attention to detail with every little thing ,piece by piece and then you find out there aren't any nails in the structure .it has this rich history , combination of different cultures all in one .you feel refreshed just by being there .it's definitely a place to be ,you all ought to visit if you haven't been .

It was mesmerizing and unique 

If you like history and have knowledge about Thailand you must visit here. Beautiful place all made of wood and the guide is amazing.

The Sanctuary Of Truth

The craftsmanship is really amazing. With your entry ticket (500bath) a guided tour is included. Specific spoken language tours start regularly. Details are explained of the sculptures of which an untrained eye child just walk by.
After this tour you can walk freely.
