Had the most amazing day today at Phuket Elephant Nature Reserve. We could tell that the animals were extremely well looked after especially having lived such an awful past. Mike was our guide & he was full of knowledge & knew so much about the backgrounds of the elephants. We really felt we got so much information out of the day & also really enjoyed all of the activities included. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved our visit to the sanctuary 🐘
The minute we arrived we were greeted by our happy, smiley & very knowledgeable guide. 
To start with, our lunch was amazing & the experience of cooking ourselves whilst learning about all the ingredients was fab. 
Seeing the elephants roaming freely, bathing in mud & water whilst being loved by their personal keeper & all the staff around was a fantastic experience. The knowledge shared by our guide was incredible (who knew Chang beer is made from elephants pee)?! 
The elephants roam around whilst being loved & cared for having been rescued from previous awful experiences.

Amazing experience

I would say my experience at Phuket Elephant Nature Reserve was a once in a lifetime, however, it turns out, it was more. That is because I went back for a second tour and then a third time for lunch at their restaurant. Yes, I loved it that much. The elephants are beautiful and seem happy there, the guides are compassionate and do a fantastic job sharing knowledge, the trainers are amazing and the atmosphere is what a sanctuary is meant to be. The nature reserve keeps the interest of the animals first and foremost.  I am grateful these elephants were rescued and sent to PENR. Please visit this gem when you spend time in Phuket, it just might touch you deeply. It did me. 

Can't say enough and couldn't get enough! Well beyond what I ever dreamed I would experience! 

A really great experience at Elephant Nature Reserve. Our guide was knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about the ethical management and care of home elephants. The sanctuary is well run and our guide spoke excellent English and his care for the elephants and the mission was clear. Highly recommend this experience.

Also, the food was and excellent surprise - Tom yam was very good!!

Excellent Ethical Elephant Experience

The elephants here are living the dream: plenty of space to roam, mud baths that would make any spa jealous, and zero pressure to perform for tourists. No rides, no tricks—just elephants being their majestic, slightly mischievous selves.

The guides were fantastic, sharing tons of cool facts and making sure both humans and elephants were respected. You can tell they genuinely care about the animals and the environment.

It’s ethical, educational, and downright inspiring. Plus, it’s a great way to see these gentle giants without feeling guilty. Trust us—this is the kind of place you’ll leave with a full heart and maybe a new favorite animal.
