Beat the Heat in Trang

Trang is a picturesque province located in the southern part of Thailand, bordering the Andaman Sea. How to get there?

 

✈️ By Airplane

Take a flight from Don Muang Airport. It takes around 1.25 hrs. Direct flights to Trang daily.

🚌 By Bus

It will take around 12 hours from Bangkok. There are many companies which operate this route, so it means that you have several choices;

🚆 By Train

There are 2 trains to Trang which are train no. 83 and train no. 167 . Both leave from the Bangkok train station at 17:00 hrs. (no. 83) and 18:30 hrs. (no. 167). It takes about 15-16 hours, with several types of tickets for example bed with a/c, seat with fan. Pricing is also different depending on the type of seats.

 

Things to do in Trang

 

1. Trying Dim Sum

In Trang province, most buildings are owned by Chinese who settle down about 200 years ago. These buildings are similar to the old town in Phuket in terms of architecture; Chino – Portuguese style. Moreover, these Chinese migrant has bought their secret recipe of delicious Dim Sum which is a famous dish you should not miss in Trang.

2. Lay Khao Kob Cave

The 4 kilometers stalactites and stalagmites; one of the Unseen Thailand places. The highlight is you need to lay down on the boat when you go inside. Please be careful, touching stalactites and stalagmites are not allowed.

3. Kan Tang Railway Station

The terminal station of the Andaman side southern line of the SRT (State Railway of Thailand). The station was opened in 1913 and its very unique architecture style has been well preserved until this day. Despite its small size, Kan Tang Train Station is an important transportation hub for the local community, connecting Trang with other destinations in southern Thailand. The station is surrounded by lush greenery and offers a peaceful atmosphere, making it a popular spot for travelers to relax while waiting for their train.

4. Emerald Cave

Very well-known Unseen Thailand ‘Emerald Cave’; if you want to go inside to see a tiny beach, you need to swim for 80 meters. The tiny beach has the uniqueness of white sand beach with jade blue water.

5. Koh Mook

Koh Mook, the third largest island in Trang, has two main sides: the west and east side. The famous Emerald Cave is situated on the east side, where no resorts are available. On the other hand, the west side has numerous resorts, offering visitors the option to stay overnight on Koh Mook.

6. Koh Kradan

Koh Kradan is extremely popular for organizing underwater weddings! If you search on the internet, you're gonna see it! Moreover, snorkeling and diving are also popular as well. When you are on the island, you will see Koh Mook, Koh Waen, Koh Cheik and Koh Mha. Staying on the island should be on your list also watching sunset on the beach and snorkeling too.

7. Koh Libong

Koh Libong is a peaceful and unspoiled island located in the Trang province of Thailand. The island is known for its natural beauty, pristine beaches, and crystal-clear waters. It is the largest island in the Trang archipelago and is surrounded by small, uninhabited islands. The island has a small fishing village, which is the only settlement on the island, and provides a glimpse into the traditional way of life of the locals.


Koh Libong is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including several endangered species. The island is particularly famous for its dugongs, which can be spotted in the waters surrounding the island. The island also boasts a dense mangrove forest, which provides an important habitat for many marine species. Visitors can take a boat trip to explore the mangrove forest and spot the unique flora and fauna.

8. Khao Chom Pa Horizon Views 360

A secret panoramic view point of the mangrove forest which you have to hire a local boat and travel through the dense forest and hiking up to the top of the mountain to see this stunning scenery.
